Let's pretend for a moment. Okay? Alright, good. Now that we're on the same page, let's talk about a wrestler.
A young guy, not too tall, (Five foot, eleven) and a measly one-eighty-five. Sure he works out, and has strength that supersedes his body mass, but even that is limited. Everywhere this young aspiring wrestler went: from the humble backyard "don't try this at home" beginnings that we all wish to never admit, all the way to legit wrestling school, and even his first wrestling gig, all he ever heard was what he "couldn't do". Well, shit. How would you feel? Maybe you have personally been down the same road. It feels like the whole world is against you, correct? So how does one deal with that kind of stress? ..with that kind of pressure?
You have a dream. And if you have the heart, the passion, you follow that dream. No questions asked, no excuses. Eyes forward, focus, and do.
Simply do.
After a while, it doesn't really matter anymore how it gets done. That's the magic of the real world: results are the only thing that truly matters anymore. Sure, the fans will cheer for their flavor of the month, but who cares? They can be as fickle as anything; cheering for Superman one day and hoping Lex Luthor gets his revenge the next. And those other wrestlers? What about them? What says that they don't deserve an ounce of respect for trying to do the same thing that this young wrestler has been trying to do?
When you choose to get into this business, you're making a deal. A deal with everyone. You're stepping through the curtain, and you're putting your body and your pain tolerance on the line for a shot at being the only one with his or her hand raised at the end of the contest. There's only one winner, and everyone knows that. The deal is, you try. You try your hardest, whatever that means to you. You are a competitor, you compete with respect, honor, and dignity. So what if the fans boo you, or some other wrestlers get jealous. You made the deal, now it's up to you to hoist that championship belt at the end of every day.
And if you don't have it? You work towards it. And if you're fighting for it? You work that much harder. And when you finally get it? You work even harder then that to keep it. It's a recipe for insanity, but that's what Wrestling is. To have the heart and the passion to do this all the way through to being champion means that you probably have a few screws loose anyway. But oh well, go for it. Just know that the motherfucker across the ring from you is going to do whatever they have to do to have what you want, and they are thinking the same thing about you.
So then what does our young wrestler do?
How do you overcome not being blessed as the most physically gifted athlete in a federation such as Chaos Wrestling?
And, to top it all off, how do you earn.. not just call yourself something.. but EARN the nickname "Infamous"?
Well, I guess we're just going to have to find out...
